Prevalence of antinuclear antibodies in hidradenitis suppurativa
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Jun 07, 2018
Mulani S, et al. - Researchers probed the prevalence of antinuclear antibody (ANA) positivity in a cohort of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). They conducted this prospective study through the Wound Etiology and Healing (WE-HEAL) Study. They also evaluated the frequency of seroconversion during treatment with tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α inhibitor therapy. In this HS population, the prevalence of baseline ANA positivity was similar to that seen in the general population (5.4%). Findings suggested a low rate of seroconversion and drug-induced complications in this population.
