JAMA Mar 27, 2019
Wertenteil S, et al. - Data were estimated to assess the prevalence of pemphigus (a bullous disease in which autoantibodies disrupt intercellular keratinocyte adhesion) in the United States. They noted the association of pemphigus with significant morbidity and mortality. However, they noticed a decline in the life-threatening course of pemphigus due to treatment with systemic corticosteroids.
