Prevalence, concordance and reproductive sequelae after chlamydia trachomatis infection in Mexican infertile couples
Andrologia Sep 23, 2020
López‐Hurtado M, Flores‐Salazar VR, Gutierréz‐Trujillo R, et al. - This study was attempted to explore the prevalence, concordance, and reproductive sequelae that couples may develop when both partners exhibit a C. trachomatis infection. Researchers conducted a cross‐sectional study among 688 infertile couples using the C. trachomatis detection by real‐time PCR. In semen quality, an alteration was shown especially in men whose sexual partners exhibit a tubal pathology. In the testis, this could happen due to a C. trachomatis infection, which underlines the need to carry out effective and efficient strategies to distinguish and treat all sexual partners exposed to C. trachomatis.
