Prevalence and predictors of sleep apnea in patients with stable coronary artery disease: A cross-sectional study

Alonderis A, et al. – The experts undertook this study to examine the prevalence and predictors of sleep apnea (SA) that might aid to increase the awareness and diagnosis of SA in stable coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. The best predictors of mild–to–severe SA were hypertension, age, male gender, obesity, Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS) ≥6, and left ventricular ejection fraction ≤45%. In the stable CAD patients, SA was prevalent comorbidity. Hence, SA should be considered in the secondary prevention protocols for CAD.
