Prevalence and predictors of depression among hemodialysis patients: A prospective follow-up study
BMC Public Health May 13, 2019
Khan A, et al. - In this multicenter investigation, researchers determined the prevalence and predictors of depression among consecutively enrolled patients with confirmed hypertensive hemodialysis via the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale questionnaire. The prevalence of depression among patients at baseline, second visit, and final visit was 71.3%, 78.2%, and 84.9% respectively. In all, the investigators identified a negative link between depression and hemodialysis therapy at non-governmental organizations running centers, which was indicative of patients’ satisfaction and better depression management practices at these centers.
