van der Geer SJ, et al. - Authors analyzed 730 cases with head and neck cancer to evaluate the predominance and prognostication of trismus in subjects with head and neck cancer by using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. They observed 23.6% of cases with head and neck cancer developed trismus in association with advanced age; partial or full dentition; tumors located at the maxilla, mandible, cheek, major salivary glands, oropharynx; a free soft tissue transfer after surgery; reirradiation; and chemotherapy.
