Prevalence and natural history of coronary ostial aneurysms in Marfan patients
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography Jan 26, 2019
Haroun RR, et al. - The prevalence and natural history of coronary ostial aneurysms in Marfan patients with aortic root replacement were determined by retrospectively assessing 31 Marfan patients (mean age, 33.7 ± 11.8 years) who underwent aortic root replacement and postoperative electrocardiogram-gated computed tomographic (CT) angiograms between January 2007 and December 2015. Researchers noted right coronary ostial aneurysms in 45.2% of patients and left main coronary ostial aneurysms in 51.6% of patients, making the occurrence of coronary ostial aneurysms in Marfan patients after aortic root replacement quite common. On follow-up examinations, these findings remained stable and had little clinical consequence.
