Venkataraman D, et al. - This study involved examination of an unselected birth cohort in the Isle of Wight, to determine the prevalence and longitudinal trends in food allergy from birth to 18 years in this population. In infancy, a high prevalence of food allergy was reported, which partially resolved during late childhood. However, during adolescence, acquisition of new food allergy by a number of children led to a relatively higher prevalence at 18 years.
