Alzheimer's & Dementia Oct 24, 2018
Rajan KB, et al. - Researchers conducted this population study to evaluate the trends in prevalence and incidence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia by analyzing data of 2794 study participants with a clinical diagnosis for AD dementia. According to 2010 US census data, the overall standardized prevalence of AD dementia was 14.5% and annual incidence was 2.3%. Both prevalence and incidence of AD dementia displayed substantial variation between 1994 and 2012, but no secular trend was seen. Findings revealed that the prevalence and incidence among African Americans were around twice than those among European Americans.
