Prevalence and disease-specific risk factors for lower urinary tract symptoms in systemic sclerosis: An international multicenter study
Arthritis Care & Research Jun 24, 2018
John G, et al. - Experts assessed the incidence of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in systemic sclerosis (SSc), specific risk factors, and their impact on quality of life (QoL). They classified LUTS into 3 main categories: storage, voiding, and post-micturition symptoms. In SSc, most frequent symptoms were self-reported LUTS, and these symptoms were associated with digestive symptoms. A lower QoL was seen in SSc patients with LUTS. The three categories of LUTS affected QoL and, with increasing frequency of symptoms, it decreased progressively.
