Prevalence and clinical implications of chronic rhinosinusitis in people with bronchiectasis: A systematic review
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice Mar 07, 2019
Handley E, et al. - Via searching four databases from inception to August 2018, researchers systematically reviewed the prevalence of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) in bronchiectasis and identified its clinical implications. Eight studies with 797 participants were included out of 80 identified studies. Data reported that mean forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) % predicted was 77.7%. According to findings, 62% of adults with bronchiectasis have CRS. Its presence was related to poorer health-related quality of life (HRQOL), a greater degree of disease severity and more extensive radiological bronchiectasis.
