Prevalence and clinical features of systemic diseases in Chinese patients with uveitis

Yang P, Zhong Z, Du L, et al. - Researchers performed a nationwide survey to determine the prevalence of a systemic disease associated with uveitis in a large-scale uveitis population in order to understand the epidemiological profile. They included 15,373 uveitis patients in the study from April 2008 through August 2018. Systemic disease was prevalent in 30.8% among patients with uveitis after standardization for age. The most frequent entities observed in China were Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease, Behçet’s disease, ankylosing spondylitis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
