Trongtrakul K, et al. - An investigation was pursued of the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in severely septic patients and its clinical outcomes, with the inclusion of mortality rate. The findings unveiled a very high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in three-quarters of patients with severe sepsis. A notable higher mortality rate was brought to light, especially in patients with severe vitamin D deficiency.
