Prevalence and associated diseases of seborrheic skin in adults
Clinical Epidemiology Sep 22, 2021
Kirsten N, Mohr N, Alhumam A, et al. - Only a small percentage of the working population has seborrheic skin. However, because this condition anticipates distinct skin diseases, it requires special attention, particularly in terms of consultation and secondary prevention.
In total, 48,630 individuals were investigated.
Seborrhea was found in approximately 6.0% of the population (6.6% in men, 5.4% in women).
Acne, trichilemmal cysts and rosacea were all substantially predicted by seborrhea.
Significant relationships of seborrhea with acne and rosacea were confirmed by regression analyses that controlled for age, gender, and phototype.
