Pretransplant coronary artery disease is a predictor for myocardial infarction and cardiac death after liver transplantation
European Journal of Internal Medicine Dec 15, 2017
Darstein F, et al. - The authors examined the liver transplant (LT) recipients from Germany to contemplate the frequency of the cardiovascular endpoints (CVE) myocardial infarction and/or cardiac death after LT. Additionally, they assessed the associations of CVE post LT with pretransplant patient characteristics. A rate of 2.8% CVE was discovered after LT in a German transplant cohort. Pretransplant coronary heart disease (CHD) served as the only risk factor for CVE. However, it did not exhibit any prominent impact on overall survival.
