Kim R, et al. - This research was initiated in order to examine if the degree of presynaptic striatal dopamine depletion could speculate the later development of freezing of gait (FOG) in Parkinson's disease (PD). Findings displayed that dopamine transporter (DAT) uptakes in the caudate nucleus and putamen predicted the development of FOG. This data could provide reliable insight into the mechanism of FOG with regard to nigrostriatal involvement.
