Miyosawa Y, et al. - This trial was designed in order to ascertain the accuracy of presepsin (P-SEP) as a novel biomarker of bacterial infection for neonatal sepsis diagnosis. Through presepsin performing a better discrimination between infections and non-infectious inflammatory conditions could be possible when compared to the currently used biomarkers.
