Preoperative Lund-Mackay computed tomography score is associated with preoperative symptom severity and predicts quality-of-life outcome trajectories after sinus surgery
International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology Mar 28, 2018
Brooks SG, et al. - Researchers sought to investigate if preoperative Lund-Mackay CT scores (LMCTS) were associated with preoperative quality-of-life outcome (QoL) in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients. They also assessed if LMCTS was predictive of postoperative QoL outcomes. A correlation between the preoperative LMCTS and preoperative extranasal and rhinologic symptom severity was noted. For medically recalcitrant chronic rhinosinusitis patients in a large tertiary otolaryngology setting, the LMCTS was an indicator of postsurgical QoL outcomes.
