Preoperative factors associated with worsening in health-related quality of life following coronary artery bypass grafting in the ROOBY trial
American Heart Journal Jan 05, 2018
Bishawi M, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the frequency and risk factors related to 1-year post-coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) health-related quality of life (HRQL) deterioration. They found that worse HRQL 1 year after CABG was experienced by less than 20% of VA patients. With respect to anticipated HRQL improvements in patients with low symptom burden at baseline, diabetes, smoking, depression, peripheral vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and a prior stroke, clinicians were recommended to be more cautious in pre-CABG counseling for these patients.
