Preoperative CT-based predictive factors for resectability and medium-term overall survival in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis from colorectal cancer
Clinical Radiology Apr 24, 2018
Suzuki C, et al. - In patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) from colorectal cancer (CRC), authors intended to inspect the preoperative radiological findings that possibly associated with resectability and medium-term overall survival (OS). Enrollees were scheduled for cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). It was illustrated that a radiological PCI score ≥20, an involvement of the perihepatic region and extensive small bowel involvement served as risk factors for open and close procedure [O&C]. An adverse link was brought to light between the involvement of the left abdominal region with OS. Findings disclosed that the location of PC, along with the extent of PC as determined by preoperative CT, speculated the resectability and medium-term survival.
