Hong YJ, et al. - In order to identify preoperative predictors showing favorable clinical outcomes, the physicians compared baseline differences, after 1 year from surgery, between shunt-responsive and unresponsive patients. They revealed that after 1 year from surgery, biomarkers representing non-idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (INPH) related pathology including Alzheimer's disease and small vessel disease could display less favorable clinical outcomes.
