Prenatal antibiotic exposure and childhood asthma: A population-based study

Ât Jong LM, et al. - This paper investigated and characterised the correlation between prenatal antibiotic exposure and childhood asthma. The findings disclosed an association between maternal antibiotic use before, during and after pregnancy with a modest, dose-dependent increase in asthma risk among offspring. This research did not support a pregnancy-specific causal link between maternal antibiotic use and childhood asthma. However, judicious prescription and use of antibiotics appeared to be crucial.
