European Journal of Pediatrics Jul 18, 2018
Ye S, et al. - A retrospective chart review of children treated at a tertiary hospital between May 1, 2012, and May 1, 2017, was conducted to investigate the efficacy and safety of tigecycline in children with severe infection. Participants in the study were 110 patients (69 males), including 46 multidrug-resistant (MDR). It was noted that the clinical improvement rate was 50% and the microbiology eradication rate was 50.98% in A. baumannii infection group. The findings from the present study suggested that the efficacy and safety of tigecycline should not be overvalued although some subjects benefited from tigecycline.
