Prehospital advanced airway management for paediatric patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A nationwide cohort study
Resuscitation Sep 25, 2019
Okubo M, Komukai S, Izawa J, et al. - Researchers examined how prehospital advanced airway management (AAM) for pediatric out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is associated with patient outcomes. From the All-Japan Utstein Registry, they analyzed 3,801 pediatric patients with OHCA in this observational cohort study. AAM was undertaken in 481 patients (12.7%) and not in 3,320 (87.3%). Observations revealed no correlation of prehospital AAM with 1-month survival or favorable functional status among pediatric patients with OHCA.
