Pregnancy outcomes in women with moderate-to-severe psoriasis from the Psoriasis Longitudinal Assessment and Registry (PSOLAR)
JAMA Feb 06, 2021
Kimball AB, Guenther L, Kalia S, et al. - This study draws on data from the Psoriasis Longitudinal Assessment and Registry (PSOLAR) to explore the connection between pregnancy outcomes and psoriasis or exposure to systemic therapies for moderate-to-severe psoriasis. In total, 298 pregnancies occurred among 220 women (mean [SD] age, 27.8 [5.2] years), and the general fertility rate was 18.9 per 1,000 women aged 18 to 45 years. The outcomes of pregnancy among women with moderate-to-severe psoriasis in PSOLAR remained consistent with previously recorded data and with the general population. To more thoroughly describe the relationship between psoriasis and treatment and birth outcomes, pregnancy-specific registries that include a greater number of pregnant women with psoriasis than PSOLAR are needed.
