Pregnancy outcomes and risk evaluation in a contemporary adult congenital heart disease cohort
Heart, Lung, and Circulation Apr 18, 2021
Kirby A, Curtis E, Hlohovsky S, et al. - Researchers retrospectively reviewed all pregnancies occurring in their tertiary referral centre congenital heart disease (CHD) cohort in order to evaluate outcomes in this cohort and relate these to previously developed risk classifications. They reviewed data from 128 pregnancies in 89 women (mean age: 29±6 years). Observations revealed increased rates of adverse cardiovascular, obstetric and neonatal events in pregnancy among women with CHD. As expected, there was more frequent occurrence of adverse outcomes in higher risk mWHO groups.
