Allergy Dec 03, 2017
Gerlich J, et al. - Researchers sought to evaluate the link between perinatal variables and the prevalence of asthma, bronchial hyperreactivity, flexural eczema, allergic rhinitis, and sensitization in childhood and early adulthood. As per findings, a greater risk for developing asthma, flexural eczema and sensitization might be present in children, who are born by Cesarean section and especially by assisted birth and for these children, monitoring was recommended. Furthermore, it was observed that these links might partly be explained by prenatal maternal stress.
