They documented elevations of GABA levels in both the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) and, in the dorsal caudate of antipsychotic-naive first-episode psychosis (FEP) patients (for the first time), which normalized in both regions following 4 weeks of antipsychotic treatment.
