Findings suggested a relatively common incidence of unplanned reoperations. The most common indications for unplanned reoperations were infection and fixation failure. Findings suggested a relationship of the factors associated with reoperation to the severity of pelvic and abdominal visceral injuries. Despite appropriate current treatment strategies, these complications might be inherent and in many cases unavoidable.
