Journal of Arthroplasty Feb 26, 2018

Ma CY, et al. - For chronic infected total knee arthroplasty (TKA), the risk factors which may lead to treatment failure following two-stage reimplantation were assessed by the experts. Four potential risk factors that could predict treatment failure after two-stage revision for chronic knee periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) were identified viz, body mass index ≥ 30 kg/m2, operative time>4 hours, gout, and the presence of Enterococcus species during resection arthroplasty.
