Predictors of survival in patients with not-operated chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation May 01, 2019
Taniguchi Y, et al. - Researchers analyzed 343 newly diagnosed consecutive patients with not-operated chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) who were followed up in the French Reference Center for Pulmonary Hypertension in order to determine the prognostic variables associated with long-term outcome in this cohort of patients. Independent predictors of survival were baseline New York Heart Association functional class, right atrial pressure, 6-min walk distance (6MWD) and diagnosis period. In the recent management era, significant improvement in survival of not-operated CTEPH patients was observed. The prognosis of non-operable CTEPH patients could be improved with new treatment options, including balloon pulmonary angioplasty.
