Yamamoto N, et al. - Herein, researchers looked for the contributors to perioperative hyperglycemia in infants who underwent surgical repair of congenital heart diseases with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Predictors of high blood glucose levels at Intensive Care Unit admission, as identified in this study, included adding to hyperglycemia during the operation, longer CPB time younger age and chromosomal abnormality.
