Predictors of remission and low disease activity state in systemic lupus erythematosus: Data from a multiethnic, multinational Latin American cohort

The Journal of Rheumatology Oct 06, 2019

Ugarte-Gil MF, Wojdyla D, Pons-Estel GJ, et al. - Patients with at least two SLE Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI; n = 1,480) listed and not optimally managed at entry were involved in these studies in order to ascertain the predictors of remission and low disease activity state (LDAS) in individuals with SLE. Among them, remission was accomplished by 196 individuals and LDAS by 314. In individuals with SLE, the absence of mucocutaneous, renal, and hematologic involvement, use of immunosuppressive drugs, and lower disease activity early in the course of the disease were auspicious of remission and elderly age was portentous of LDAS.
