Predictors of predominant Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS-50)
Lupus Nov 15, 2019
Babaoglu H, et al. - A total of 2,228 SLE people who had at least three clinical visits were involved in order to recognize predictors of being in the Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) ≥ 50% of the observation time. Only 52.5% attained LLDAS-50. In African Americans, this proportion was equally less. A modifiable positive predictor of LLDAS-50 was a greater percentage of time taking hydroxychloroquine. Anti-RNP, anti-dsDNA, and low complement were negatively related to LLDAS-50. Findings further highlight the significance of including African Americans in clinical trials and hydroxychloroquine adherence in both clinical practice and clinical trials.
