Predictors of postprandial hypoglycemia after gastric bypass surgery: A retrospective case-control study
Obesity Surgery Mar 02, 2021
Zweck E, et al. - This study was undertaken to determine if baseline parameters of postbariatric patients can predict the occurrence of symptomatic hypoglycemia during a mixed-meal test. Data were analyzed from 35 patients after gastric bypass with suspected postprandial hypoglycemia and conducted a standardized mixed-meal test. In patients with and without symptomatic hypoglycemia during mixed-meal test, HbA 1c and weight loss varied. For the screening of postprandial hypoglycemia in patients after gastric bypass, these baseline parameters may be used and could encourage the identification of patients who need further evaluation.
