Predictors of postoperative complications after robot-assisted radical cystectomy with extracorporeal urinary diversion
Cancer Management and Research Jun 05, 2019
Lee CU, et al. - In this retrospective review, researchers identified predictors of complications post-robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). They analyzed 126 cases that had RARC with extracorporeal urinary diversion. Using the Clavien-Dindo system, complications were classified. Of 126 patients, 78 (61.9%) developed postoperative complications. Compared to previous reports, comparable rates of major complications after RARC with extracorporeal urinary diversion were found in this study. Findings revealed lower major than minor complications post-RARC. Preoperative hemoglobin, intravesical instillation, and estimated blood loss were identified as independent predictors of postoperative complications.
