Ali SA, et al. - In this single-institution retrospective review of cases treated at the University of Michigan between 2000 and 2017, investigators analyzed 655 subjects to assess the predictors of intratonsillar abscess (ITA) in the context of peritonsillar abscess (PTA). They observed the classic PTA symptoms like otalgia, trismus, and voice changes in some cases and symptoms like neck pain and lymphadenopathy with less success in yielding purulence and infrequent aspiration were exhibited by ITA subjects.
