Predictors of genitourinary malignancy in patients with asymptomatic microscopic hematuria
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations Oct 11, 2017
Samson P, et al. - This paper aspired to report the incidence of genitourinary malignancy and to detect the related risk factors in patients undergoing urologic analysis for asymptomatic microscopic hematuria (AMH) based on the 2012 American Urologic Association guidelines. The data displayed a low incidence of malignancy among patients with AMH. Male sex, age >50 years, smoking history, and irritative voiding symptoms were discovered to be risk factors associated with urinary tract cancer. In order to formulate a more customized screening protocol for low-risk patients, advanced trials were warranted.
