Guillou T, et al. - Among children visiting the emergency department with a complex febrile seizure (CFS), researchers evaluated the prevalence of clinically urgent intracranial pathology (CUIP). They analyzed patient visits for a CFS in seven pediatric emergency departments from January 2007 to December 2011. According to this retrospective cross-sectional study, CUIP are rare events in children with a CFS in the subgroup of children with normal neurological clinical examination and in those with brief multiple generalized seizures.
