Predictors of arrhythmia recurrence in patients with heart failure undergoing left atrial ablation for atrial fibrillation
Clinical Cardiology Jan 26, 2018
Bazoukis G, et al. - In this study, researchers assessed the long-term outcomes of a single radiofrequency catheter ablation procedure in heart failure (HF) patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), presuming that left atrial ablation is an effective therapeutic modality in HF patients. They found that a single radiofrequency catheter ablation procedure affords an effective and safe modality for AF in patients with concomitant HF. They also noted that 73.7% of HF patients remained in sinus rhythm after a mean 3.3 years of follow-up. Arrhythmia recurrence after the blanking period was significantly predicted by early arrhythmia recurrence.
