Predictors of adjuvant treatment and survival in patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma who undergo resection
American Journal of Surgery Mar 09, 2019
Lee GC, et al. - Researchers sought the predictors of receipt of adjuvant therapy (AT) and survival among patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) who underwent resection. Using the NCDB (2004-2014) they identified 2,813 patients, 42.3% of these received AT. Reception of AT was frequently reported in patients with positive margins, positive nodes, and higher stage. A less likelihood of receiving AT was noted for Black patients and patients with Medicare/Medicaid. “High-risk” patients displayed lower mortality in correlation with AT.
