Predictors for remission after transsphenoidal surgery in acromegaly: A Dutch multicenter study
Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Feb 10, 2021
Coopmans EC, Postma MR, Wolters TLC, et al. - In acromegaly, the primary treatment of choice is transsphenoidal surgery (TSS). Researchers aimed at determining the predictors for remission after TSS in acromegaly via conducting a large multicenter study with retrospective data collection from three tertiary neurosurgical referral centers. Analysis was performed on clinical data from three cohorts (Groningen, Nijmegen and Rotterdam, total n = 282). Following were identified as the best predictors for remission after TSS in acromegaly: maximum tumor diameter and random GH concentration at diagnosis.
