Predictive value of quad serum markers for adverse pregnancy outcome in antiphospholipid antibody syndrome
Lupus Mar 20, 2021
Hong SY, et al. - Researchers here examined whether quad serum markers are valid predictors of adverse pregnancy outcome (APO; defined as stillbirth, small for gestational age (SGA), severe preeclampsia, or preterm delivery) in women with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS). A total of 75 women with APS were included who delivered at their institution. Relative to APS mothers without APO, those with APO had higher median α-fetoprotein (AFP) and inhibin A. Outcomes revealed a high predictive value of increased AFP, hCG, and inhibin A for APO, especially stillbirth, in women with APS.
