Predictive significance of serum interferon‐inducible protein score for response to treatment in systemic sclerosis–related interstitial lung disease
Arthritis & Rheumatology May 07, 2021
Assassi S, Li N, Volkmann EA, et al. - This study was attempted to ascertain if composite serum interferon (IFN)–inducible protein score exhibits predictive significance for the response to immunosuppression in systemic sclerosis (SSc)–related interstitial lung disease (ILD). Serum samples collected in the Scleroderma Lung Study II, researchers designed a randomized controlled trial to examine mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) vs cyclophosphamide (CYC). In SSc‐ILD, a higher IFN‐inducible protein score is predictive of better response to immunosuppression and could potentially be applied to distinguish patients who may derive the most benefit from MMF or CYC.
