Predictive features for anterior mediastinal mass diagnoses
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography Jan 27, 2019
Hammer MM, et al. - Researchers assessed 223 individuals to estimate a set of demographic and computed tomography imaging characteristics for the diagnosis of anterior mediastinal masses. They observed a relationship of internal mammary lymphadenopathy and mediastinal encasement with lymphomas. Older age was correlated with thymic epithelial neoplasms. They noted that low attenuation and midline location were strongly correlated with benign lesions. The average accuracy of the diagnoses was recorded as 78%. Overall, 9 demographic and imaging features were noted beneficial in diagnosing anterior mediastinal masses with fair accuracy.
