Higashide Y, et al. - Herein, researchers examined if pretreatment clinical and laboratory findings could speculate the short-term and long-term response to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) in children with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Findings brought to light the possibility of considering corticosteroid therapy alongside IVIG, as an initial treatment for new patients who were older than 2 years.
