Predictive factors and biomarkers for the 2-year outcome of uveitis in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: Data from the inception cohort of newly diagnosed patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (ICON-JIA) study
Rheumatology Jan 04, 2019
Heiligenhaus A, et al. - Investigators analyzed 954 juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) cases to determine predictors for the 2-year consequence in terms of achieving inactivity, subsequent uveitis reactivation, and appearance of uveitis-related complications of JIA-associated uveitis. They observed a correlation of older age at JIA onset, high anterior chamber (AC) cell grades, poor visual acuity, and topical steroid use at first uveitis documentation with uveitis-related complications. They also noted JIA disease, uveitis activity scores, and adalimumab as the significant predictors for the 2-year outcome of JIA-associated uveitis subjects.
