Magnusson K, et al. - Researchers developed a prediction model for hand osteoarthritis (OA) in men and contrasted its discriminative performance to a prediction model for lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Results demonstrated the capability of this prediction model for hand OA for discriminating between persons with and without hand OA to a similar extent that was previously reported for knee OA. Compared to the prediction of chronic pulmonary disease, the prediction of OA still remains more challenging.
