Predicting the risk of recurrent venous thromboembolism in patients with cancer: A prospective cohort study
Thrombosis Research Jan 14, 2018
van Es N, et al. - The authors undertook an analysis of the role of serial measurements of pro-coagulant markers for the detection of patients at high risk of recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE). Recurrent VTE was speculated via baseline P-selectin but not with D-dimer levels. Hence, baseline P-selectin levels could serve as a valuable addition to clinical prediction rules for the identification of patients for more intensive therapy or closer observation.
