Predicting the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer: Wavelet transforming radiomics in MRI
BMC Cancer Feb 12, 2020
Zhou J, Lu J, Gao C, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective study to examine the value of wavelet-transformed radiomic MRI in anticipating the pathological complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for individuals with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC). The sample consisted of 55 female patients with LABC who had contrast-enhanced MRI (CE-MRI) examination prior to NAC. According to findings, wavelet-transformed textures outperformed volumetric and/or peripheral textures in the pCR-to-NAC radiomic MRI prediction for LABC patients, which may potentially act as a surrogate biomarker for predicting LABC's response to NAC.
